Supporting in prayer those living with HIV/AIDs in Ashby de la Zouch

Welcome

Aids Support Ashby is a small group who pray. Since September 2007 we have been meeting on a weekly basis to pray for those in Ashby de la Zouch living with HIV/Aids.

If you are living with HIV/AIDS, we would love to be praying for you particularly. We have been praying for those living with HIV in Ashby since September 2007 in a general way. The four of us have met weekly at 6:00 a.m. for an hour. We are Tim, Pat, Joyce and Jenny.

As of November 2010 we moved the time of our prayer meeting to 2:00 p.m. on Thursdays, and were joined by Esther. In November 2012 we have moved again at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesdays.

A cloud of fear surrounds those who are required to keep secrets. If you would like us to pray for you, please leave us a message. You do not need to leave any contact details, although we would welcome that.

We would love it if you would leave a name - either your own or any name that you choose that we could use to refer to you.

This website is an invitation. Please accept our invitation to pray for you, week in week out, by name.

World AIDS Day Hymn for 1 Dec 2011

We come to you, O God, as friends,
to share the pain and fear we know,
to listen with our hearts and minds,
to offer love, not empty show.

And as we speak each hidden fear,
with empathy, from day to day,
together we will live in hope
for we will act as well as pray.

This double-bind of poverty
and illness, known by some from birth,
demands that we should stand as one
to underline our common worth.

So let us each embrace with Christ
our sister, brother, harmed or whole;
until we find in common grace
a means to heal both flesh and soul.
